(Big Timber, Montana) AT THE GRAND 1 DRINK Pool Table Token

This Brunswick Balke Collender Company token is from the Bar/ Saloon in the Grand Hotel in Big Timber, Montana.

This variety of Brunswick token was issued from perhaps the 1880's to WW 1. In that period, the Grand Hotel had at least four different owners, any one of whom could have issued this token: Frank Bliss was an old time saloon operator who ran saloons in Big Timber starting in the early 1880's. He is listed in Territorial Gazetteers and was the owner in 1900 when the Grand Hotel was first listed. By 1906 the owner of the Grand Hotel was Wm. O. Tucker, by 1912 the owner was L. R. McKeever and by the teens the owner was Jno.McCambridge. The Grand Hotel and these owners had listings all throughout the 1900-1916 period in Montana Gazetteers. See for example: the 1900 R.L.
