This token with a worn obverse is of interest because it is an unlisted denomination.

A Mathwig & Reardon token is listed for Joliet in the Montana Token Book...but it is a 12 1/2c token. This one is a 5c token.

Edward M. Mathwig and Edward J. Reardon ran a Saloon in Joliet, Montana back in the teens and you can find Business Directory listins for them in the 1914 Montana Bradstreet, the 1916 MN-DAKS-MT Polk Gazetteer and the 1919 Bradstreet. With the arrival of Prohibition in 1919 Mathwig & Reardon went out of business.
