(Melrose, Montana????) IOWA POCKET BILLIARD ROOM 5c Token

This token is an early version of an unattributed maverick that has been around for a long time. Others have believed that it might come from San Diego, California or Minnesota (St. Paul????) or Iowa. The fellow who collected this old token believed that it came from Melrose, Montana. And, I do find an Iowa House listed in Melrose, in Montana Directories from about 1906 to the mid teens. See, for example the 1906 R. L. Polk Gazetteer. I consider attribution, however, to still be a work in progress.
