_______________________________________________ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: _______________________________________________ This is an Ingle System Token - The Ingle system provided cash registers, tokens and a patented system to reduce the work of maintaining the book keeping ledgers that most shop keepers of the day used. If patrons wanted to have an account, the shop keeper could advance any amount in Ingle tokens to them ...say $10.00... and then the patrons could spend the tokens a few cents at a time at will. The shop keeper in turn would keep records only as payments were made on the $10.00 loan and not for each time the patron spent a few pennies. The Wittstruck Brothers were Grocery Store Proprietors in Lincoln, Nebraska from 1918 to 1922.
